Have you noticed a difference in how you are marketed to?  I noticed it years ago when I first actually paid attention to an advertisement for the different branches of the military.  The first one that jumped out at me was the Army’s new ads that focused on the "Army of One."  (Here’s a little brain candy to go with that old ad).

Most consumer companies had gotten on the "consumer of one" concept way before that, but here, our government was understanding that the "me generation" was actually spawining the "me 2.0" generation.  Still focused on themselves – but a more unique-individual-"special" and more customized self."

Mass Customization was something we’d heard about for decades.  But it’s a reality now.  And with the explosion of multimedia tools and internet distribution systems – Chris Anderson’s Long Tail concept is alive, well and more relevant to business than ever before.

More specifically, the Long Tail concept of "Architecture of Production – You literally become your own, private media production studio.  In fact, musicians, authors and consultants have jumped on board with both feet.

There will be nay-sayers out there – like the traditional media (because they want to "push" their information on you.  The corporations too – want to push their own message and agenda.  But the rise of the citizen marketer and evangelist has changed all that.  And personally – I’m Lovin’ it!

I’m all about market economy – and a consumer revolution.  Personally, I think it’s the best thing that can happen to weed out the bad companies from the good.

More tomorrow!
