Know Thyself – or No One Else Will Know Why They Should Choose You
There’s a simple law in the physics of marketing that says – people can’t choose you if they don’t know why they should. You have to tell them why they should choose you. And to do that, you’ll need to know what that reason is.
I’m not trying to be patronizing or facetious here, just realistic. Most people think the question is "Why am I in business?" or "What do I provide?" but in my opinion these are the wrong questions. The question we need to answer is "Why should my IDEAL customer choose ME instead of that other guy?"
Now that’s the million dollar answer. Because it’s the only one the customer cares about and the only one that will get them to trade their money for what it is they want (which is hopefully what you happen to have.)
