Virtual Teams UNITE!

4215242327 I’m currently in the process of working on several projects with clients that involve collaboration between client employees who are spread all over the country and me – who is spread all over several clients.

Over the last few weeks, I’ve been evalutating several collaboration tools.  As you might imagine, I’m looking for the best value (i.e. combination of price and ease of use).  I won’t bore you with the different ones I’ve tried, but I will tell you that so far, I’m loving Central Desktop!

With Central Desktop, you have the FREE option which allows you to manage a couple projects with 5 individuals.  I’m currently testing this one.  But if it continues to perform as I’ve experienced, then I’m happy to upgrade to the $25/mo version which increases the number of team members per client as well as the number of client projects you can manage.

I’m loving several features as of this morning.  The first is the ability to BOTH upload documents in their original file format – and then I’m also loving the ability to cut and copy those same documents into the project management space so that the group can collaborate.

I may have neglected to mention that this is also a project management tool which allows you to set and assign tasts, milestones, responsibile parties and all that good stuff.  now this is project management for those of us in the "gifted class" which means it’s SIMPLE.  So if you’re looking for high end detail, you won’t find it here.  But if you’re a group of people flung throughout the country and maybe several countries – this is a terrific tool.

I’m also going to be trying out a new conference calling tool called FreeConference. It’s also online and easy to use. (At least I think, we’ll see what happens later this morning.)
