We've all seen the reports that overall, consumers are not willing to change their driving habits as gas prices rise (i.e. walking, biking, public transportation and car pooling) so I don't think the money lies in developing new, cheaper ways of transportation.

Instead, I think the gold is in developing promotions and programs that make it easier for consumers to continue to travel the way they are accostomed. Promotions that offer free gas as the prize, enter-to-win a free trip, saving programs that reward you for spending on gas, etc, will be sure to catch the attention of drivers everywhere.

Perhaps a promotions company can take this and run with it? Just be sure to send me a few gas cards . . .
