Could Smiling and Moving Change the World?
![]()
I opened up my e-mail this morning and found this: Smile and Move. It’s a book and a movement to get people to pass on the most valuable thing we have to give — a smile.
You might think that this doesn’t have much to do with Marketing or Marketing Strategy – but you would be wrong.
A really good, viral, sticky marketing strategy comes from authentic energy that makes your customers happy and eager to give you money.  That reaction happens because of the way your business makes them feel.
On the web site, “The Story” behind Smile and Move explains a life lesson learned by two girls selling lemonade to raise money for cancer;
“These people are stopping to be served lemonade because they might be thirsty but also so they can help you help people with cancer. They’re your customers and they have places to go but they’re giving you their support, their time, and money.”
All of this negative talk about the economy has gotten us to forget that we are all human beings who want to help other people. Perhaps the most powerful action we can all take to improve the state of small business and the economy is to smile and move.
Over lunch today (or when you have about 15 minutes) take a look at this video. It shows the power of a smile and some validation.
