Find a Good Cause To Support That Builds Your Brand

2010 March 25

Some people are just naturally philanthropic.  They volunteer, they give their time helping others and are always involved in a charity.  This is a good thing.  I’ve just never been drawn to something like that.  At least not yet.  But when I saw this latest blog post from John Warrillow, author of “Built to Sell”  I realized that finding a cause to support might just be a function of finding a cause that supports your brand!

“Built to Sell” is a book about turning your business into a money machine.  If you’ve read the e-Myth, then you get the picture.  Systematize your business in a way that is repeatable, teachable and valuable and you will find yourself at the heart of a business enough value that you can have fun running it or sell to someone else you can take it over easily.

But look at what else John has done.  He’s taken his experience in M&A and investing in businesses and created a partnership with Kiva.org.  He’s showing us that you’re never too small to invest in another business.

So even if you’re like me and aren’t that involved in philanthropic activities.  Take a look around your community and the web for causes that your brand can support that support your brand as well.
